So I've done some training so far. I knew I could run and bike but swimming definitely didn't come naturally to me. I can comfortably bike about 10 miles and can comfortably run about five steps. My body never wants to run but during an average workout I can do about 2-3 miles. But swimming is a bit of a demon. How are you supposed to breathe with your face in the water?!? My wife is an outstanding swimmer. I employed her help in swim training with me and this week I'm proud to announce that I swam my first 750 yds straight (without stopping to catch my breath). This is the length of the swim portion of my triathlon! I felt accomplished but after doing some research in what's involved in a triathlon today I realized I have a LOT more work to do before I'm prepared.
Since I don't know what the typical layout of each post will be or how often they will be (once a week maybe?) I'll just wing it with this one.
Current weight:
- 246 lbs
- Swam 750 yds straight
Ok I didn't really workout much else. I need to come up with a plan/schedule.
Future goals / things to work on this week:
- Run a 5k
Haha, your comment about only being able to run comfortably for five steps made me lol. But props to you. This is a big goal and a very brave thing to do. I'm absolutely certain that you can do it.
